I’m transfering a project from FCP7 to PPro CS6 using XML. My export timeline setting in FCP7 are
    Frame Size: 1280 x 1080, Aspect Ratio HD(1280 x 1080) (16×9).
    I export XML to desktop.

I open PPro. It asks for New Project, I give it a name then I say Ok.
New Sequence Window pops up and I click Cancel.

I go to File>Import in PPro, import XML file.
Window pops up and asks Where is the File ‘76278.JPG’. I don’t care about finding this file so I click Cancel.

I open Bin and my clips as well as my sequence are squished on the sides. In other words my video’s width is squished so the image is squished. I check sequence properties and they show
    1280 x 1080. These files came from P2 cards.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks
    Mandla

You need to be using a DVCPRO HD 1080 sequence…PPro knows to stretch that out to fill the frame, as DVCPRO HD 1080 is uber anamorphic. The sequence you brought over most likely is being read as square pixel.

But, why do I need to create a sequence? Shouldn’t the XML come over with the same specs?
Creations a DCVPRO HD 1080 sequence still squishes the image.
