transfering mt2s files into vegas 8
I have a Dell 740 with duel quad xeon cpu’s 4 g of ram. Vista home pro. I have sony vegas 8 pro (registered).
I purchased a Sony HDR SR-11 video cam (hard drive), when I transfer the mt2s files into vegas, it freezes. I have tried all settings on the cam to no effect.
Any help would be appreciated, I am at my wits end.PS: I purchased Douglas Spotted Eagle’s book and really like it, I highly recommend it. Easy reading but good teaching.

Hmmm….What other AVCHD-capable apps are on the computer?
You’re running Vegas Pro 8b, yes?
Sounds like a codec fart, but could be something else. Can you answer the above two questions before I take a shot at the problem?Glad you like the new book.

Yes, I do have another avchd folder on the same drive. I had a sony hard drive camera, returned it because it did not have the little pull up screen, could not see the lcd screen in sunlight.

I erased the avchd folder on the computer then transfered 2 clips into vegas and the program worked fine. Maybe the old avchd folder was the problem. I will keep you posted.
About 13 years ago I met a fellow named “Shadow Hawk”. He was justing getting into shooting video, analog of course. Nice guy, would like to touch bases with him again, if anybody knows or hears of him, I would appreciate an update
