transfering media from backup External Hard Drive to avid system for editing
I have backed up my media on an external hard drive from Avid Exp Pro. Now i’m trying to put it on my Avid composer. I can load it but when I do I get off line on everything. If I relink it I can’t edit unless I have the external hard drive connected and on. What to do?

Make sure you have the EXACT file path correct for the media that has been moved to the new system.
{drive letter}:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1 for MXF media
{drive letter}:\OMFI MediaFiles for OMF mediaThen pull the transfer drive off the system and then see if it shows up after launching the avid software. If it doesn’t then try to relink leaving the transfer drive off.
