  • Transfer modes in DaVinci Resolve to create Looks

So I’ve been looking everywhere I can think of to find out if DaVinci Resolve offers transfer modes (i.e. overlay, darken, add, multiply, etc, etc, etc.) for the purpose of creating certain looks like Nucoda Film Master, Apple Color are capable of doing. Or if there is a certain work around that will allow this. Thanks for responses.

There aren’t any nodes named “overlay”, “screen” and so on.. So you’ll have to use the different nodes in order to make the desired look.

Without Resolve in front of me now, I think you could give the Parallel Node a go. It should definitely get you in the right direction.

With the node options provided if they were to be compared to transfer modes what would be there respective equivalent, i.e. serial on davinci comparable to “normal” etc. etc.

There are no transfer modes in Resolve. I’d love to see that in Resolve someday as it is very useful and help to build certain look very quickly with just one mode.

It could be a menu selection within the node itself. Of course being able to do a opacity level mix with previous nodes would be neat.

    Chrispy,

Thank you for your answer. I agree, I would like to see transfer mode options added to nodes a future feature of Resolve.

Thanks Warren, that really means a lot to get your feedback. Took a class this last May with Kevin in LA, hope that you do Resolve training in the states and not just down under 🙂
