  • Transfer M100 HD clips to FCP ??

Posted by Jay Burnham on October 25, 2006 at 6:53 pm

    Hello,

I have a client (ad agency) that wants me to capture some clips (on M100 HD) and then give them the clips to use in FCP. Has anyone done this, if so what are the best settings in M100 HD?
Should I capture it as SD or use the M100i codec?
Will I have to export the clips to generic QT movies or give them the M100 transcoder file?
The footage is coming from Beta SP.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Are you speaking about an SD (PAL/NTSC) format? Then I would suggest capturing either into DV/DVCPro50 codec or into 8 or 10bit uncompressed (not Media 100 codec). These are spported better in FCP than the Media 100 codecs.

So under the Media Settings set the compressor to Media 100 HD and select either 8 or 10 bit. Then I can give them the captured files and they will be able to work with them? No converting?

    Thanks again

Um, no. under Media settings select DVCPro50, or Uncompressed 8 bit. Since you
