Transcriptive plug-in causes timeline bugs?
After installing Digital Anarchy’s Transcriptive plug-in, a new consistent bug has emerged. Whenever I switch from one timeline to another, the timeline indicator jumps to the head of the timeline. This doesn’t happen when I’m working in the Transcriptive panel; there everything works as planned. But when I’m working in the timeline (whether or not the Transcriptive panel is open), it sends me to the head.
Now, I don’t know for sure that this is caused by Transcriptive, because I also installed a second plug-in around the same time (Insta360 plug-in), so it’s possible that is causing the problem. But since then, I have reinstalled my Adobe suite several times, and even twice completely erased my hard drive, reinstalled the OS, avoided the Insta360 plug-in, and yet continued to have the problem. This should rule out the 360 plug-in.
Each time I reinstalled, however, I also reinstalled Transcriptive, because it’s part of my current task work flow. So, Transcriptive is likely the culprit. Also, Transcriptive does effect the timeline (although it’s only supposed to do so, while working in the Transcriptive panel).
Other trouble-shooting I’ve tried:
-deselecting “At playback end, return to beginning when restarting playback” under the Timeline panel in the preferences.
-trashed preferences
-replaced keyboard and mouse
-tried different projectsAny help would be greatly appreciated! It’s a small issue once or twice, but since I tend to bounce back and forth between timelines a lot, it ends up being a pretty big pain in the butt.

What version of Transcriptive are you using? Make sure you’ve installed the latest version:

fwiw…this isn’t a known issue.
While it’s possible TS could cause this behavior when the panel is open, it’s difficult to see how it could be causing it when the panel is closed and especially if it’s uninstalled. If it’s uninstalled and still happening when you create a new project, it’s _really_ unlikely it’s Transcriptive. With an existing project, it’s still unlikely but it’s conceivable that perhaps there’s something about how we saved the transcript data in the project that’s causing Premiere to do something weird. As mentioned tho, this is not something we’ve heard of.
Another thing to try is click on the ‘Lock’ button in the UI. This will lock TS onto one transcript, preventing it from trying to load other transcripts. This exists so if you’re working on the transcript for a sequence it won’t constantly change every time you switch to a different sequence. So… if TS is causing it, turning on Lock might fix it.

This is indeed a real bug (as of the last version I worked on).
A fellow editor figured out a solution with the help of the Digital Anarchy support team.

“I solved this by always keeping the script Locked. when I wanna change to a new script – I unlock then switch timelines and let that script load – then immediately lock it again. As long as that’s locked then no bug.”

Thank you very much, Mr. Tierney, for your personal response to my post. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get back to you sooner.
I have just conducted the uninstall of Transcriptive, and indeed, the problem has gone away. If that changes, I’ll report back here.
I’m in the middle of a massive project that utilizes Transcriptive quite a bit, so I will have to reinstall it soon. Then I’ll rely on your work-around of locking the timeline transcript.
But it’s also good to know that when I’m next working on a project that doesn’t require transcripts, I can uninstall, and not suffer from this glitch.
If you have any other work-arounds that will help me work better with Transcriptive, or if you create a version without this bug, I would very much appreciate an update.
