Bouncing Account needs new email address
July 21, 2005 at 4:33 pmHow about hiring a starving college student who is a fast typist?
That’s how many ACCURATE transcriptions are done.
Voice-recognition software is still very inaccurate for this kind of thing.

July 21, 2005 at 4:57 pmFunny you should say that. We are a College cable station with 6 staff Producers/you-name-it-we-do-it-techs. We actually do have student interns transcribing our tapes, but we are thinking that if we could get a voice recognition program, they will only have to QC it’s output. Thus saving time.

July 21, 2005 at 10:39 pmWe spend a lot of money every year on transcription services. If anyone has any success with an automatic program I’d love to hear about. Unfortunately, my research in this area has turned up nothing that works well. Sure you can train your computer to take dictation, but that’s a far cry from understanding and transcribing random voices not necessarily speaking the king’s english.
