I’m starting a doc and will be digitizing and logging a bunch of tapes. I would like to digitize and transcribe at the same time.

Is there a way to run excel or word in FCP? What is the easiest way to transcribe for FCP?

Also, I heard of an editor who was able to link FCP and excel so video clips could be referenced and searched for in excel and then brought up in FCP. Any ideas?

    Dan,
Depending on the source, i might have a few options for you.
Most important, what kind of deck do you have?
If you have a TC out on your deck it’s easy…

At the moment, I’m digitizing with a secondary camera that I use as a deck. It displays the time code in the window of the camera, but doesn’t give vis-code out.

I’m also looking for a similar solution in FCP. Did anything ever come of this thread? I’m digitizing from a Sony HVR-V1U.
