Transcoding
Hi all,
Im fairly new to FCP, i have many videos of my son which i want to put together. However, the videos are of very simple quality. I want to transcode or encode [or whatever the term is] them to the ‘highest’ quality resolution possible. I know when you add a HD video as your first video to the sequence it automatically changes sequence settings to match that of HD, but then the other videos end up being very poor in quality and heaps pixilated. What i want to know is, is there a way that i can actually upgrade the quality of the videos to HD, as in “convert” all my videos to HD quality [or to the highest possible quality like 2K] before even beginning to edit in FCP?
The reason I’m asking this and i know it can be done is because old videos shot say in the 50’s with very simple technology or simple videos shot with hand held cameras have been converted to 4K. I don’t expect my simple videos to look the same as a 4K produced image quality, however I’m planning on buying a 4K projector and would like my video to play at that quality][Most of my videos are shot with Nokia N93 and Macbook Pro’s camera.]
