Transcoding Sony F3 XDCAM .MP4s into Avid MXF
Hi all,
I am trying to find the best way to transcode Sony F3 XDCAM .MP4s into Avid MXFs so that the .MP4 clip name appears in the tape name field in Avid Media Composer. Normally I’d use Resolve but it doesn’t deal with XDCAM .MP4s.
The tape name part is important because I am trying to relink to a bunch of avid sequences which have already been created. (the post house kept the bin of sequences and the raw media but dumped the original avid media.)
I’d be very grateful of any help anyone could offer me.

Remember you can relink across columns as well.
Relink to selected items in open bins will allow you to set up quite a few variations of columns for avid to use in the relink process.
You should be able to set up a cross over where the location has changed, so you can say it was the tape id, but is now the name column.
