  • Transcoding Pauses in FCP X?

    Hi all,

I imported some dslr footage into FCP X a few hours ago. I set the clips to transcode to ProRes. I needed to leave my computer to do some errands so I figured the transcoding would be finished when I got back. When I did all the clips were paused and barely any progress was made.

Why is it doing this? I understand that I can still edit with the footage while this process is happening. But just want to know if there is a work around.

    Thanks!

You probably just need to turn off app nap.

    What Loren said.

App Nap (and Energy Saver on a laptop) are the two most common process killers in running X.
