Trying to find the right tool to make new UHD generations (ProRes/DNx) from from some H265 footage.

Anyone know of any plugins for MC or Premiere? Is there only 3rd party software that can handle this encode. It just seems like nothing can interpret the codec.

All advice and thoughts very welcome!

Pretty sure the current pro version of squeeze handles H264 and that could transcode to Avid Media. Bet it will be slow though!

Haven’t tried Squeeze yet, but you’re probably right. EditShare from Divergent Media also works.

But what I’ve ended up doing is just changing the wrapper from .MOV to .mp4. and Media Encoder now accepts the file and is crunching away.

I’d give Resolve a try if you haven’t. It’s free and extremely versatile with different codecs.

Resolve wouldn’t accept them either, much to my chagrin. It’s typically my go-to for proxies. Maybe I could try upgrading. I have 12.1.0.015 currently, not sure what the latest is right now.
