    A few things:

    a) Project settings?
    b) Are your hard-drives fomatted as NTFS?
    c) Try a lower bit-rate to see if that helps.

You dont need to switch formats, just bitrate. Click on the Video tab in the lower right quad and scroll down.

I had the same transcoding error when trying to burn a movie that is 1 hour and 8 minutes long. I FINALLY got to work. Here’s what I did:

    1) I saved a copy of the movie from my external drive (FAT32 file system) to my C: drive (NTFS file system).
    2) Defragmented my C: drive.
    3) Cleared a bunch of files from my C: drive so I had 20GIG of free space.

After I did these things, the movie burned to DVD fine. And it looks great on the TV!

There are a lot of other great suggestions on this forum:

I solved my transcoding error by saving my Premiere project to a larger hard drive. When I burn a DVD from Premiere, Premiere will create a folder called Encoded Files, and in that it will make a folder with the name of the project. In that project folder Premiere makes another folder with the name of the time line. Inside that it makes a m2v and wav file that it uses to make the DVD. You not only need space, but it must be defragmented space.

CAUTION: Premiere Pro 2.0 may not recreate these m2v/wav files if you make small changes and burn a DVD again from Premiere. It will use the old m2v/wav files and skip your changes. Change the bit rate by some small fraction to force Premiere to recreate the files.
