Jared Boice here STILL walking on eggshells around Encore CS4. While I’ve had success with most of my Final Cut Movies in Encore, I’ve got a couple of Final Cut Movie files in my current Blu Ray project that will NOT transcode in Encore. It says, “Transcoding Now” but the progress bar NEVER moves. So I took it upon myself to encode my own MPEG-2s and then I realized that Adobe thought ahead even less regarding this one since Adobe Media Encoder can’t seem to produce an MPEG-2 that does not require to be transcoded again in Encore.

m2v’s maintain an “untranscoded” status and when I export a generic MPEG-2 from Media Encoder (with the .mpg extension) it still maintains the same “untranscoded” status as well as requiring import AGAIN and AGAIN for no reason? You heard that right, it will import and conform the audio and then as I move on to check the status of whether or not it requires to be transoded, all of a sudden it starts importing it again and conforming the audio. And then it does it again. WTF?

Someone please tell me what workflow works for them because I can’t seem to find a single workflow that doesn’t produce some kind of critical problem.
