Transcoding 30p or 24p to 25p
Hello. I have a NTSC only Sony A7S and occasionally have clients requesting footage in 25p. Will be mixing with footage shot at the proper 25p frame rate with Sony FS7. Audio sync critical, the A7S is a second camera in interviews. Any suggestions (aside from getting the A7S II) for frame rate settings on the NTSC only camera to match better with the 25p footage?

There’s no real magic to it. Media Encoder can do the pulldown conversion of your footage without any real hiccups. If you’re unhappy with the final product then you’ll need to look at a hardware solution like Blackmagick’s Teranex Express or 2D Processor. The most cost efficient solutions are software based (Media Encoder, Compressor, Telestream Episode, etc). But as usual, it depends on your budget, time, and overall standards.
