  • Transcoding 10fps AVI file in Encore, having issues!

Posted by Vegim Begolli on November 3, 2010 at 4:44 am

    Hello,

I am having issues with Encore CS5 insisting that it must transcode my video … and I am fairly new to the whole video scene. I have an AVI file that is 2.67GB, 720×480, is 3:03:52 long, and 10 frames/second. It’s a powerpoint presentation that was shot in Camtasia Studio and outputted for DVD.

I am trying to get it on a single layer disc, and each time I import it in to Encore CS5, it botches it up – looks terrible. If I play just the AVI file in VLC, I don’t see any issues.

Does anyone have any tips for me to get the quality right (I mean, 10fps??..) so the words don’t look blurred and everything looks like the source AVI file I have?

    Would appreciate some help!

Personally, I’d take the AVI and put it into Premiere first and either encode it to mpeg-2 using AME, or dynamic link it to Encore.

    This might help.

if thi AVI is captured from a computer running powerpoint it will never be sharp on your DVD.

so there´s nothing you can´t do . it could have bad or even worth results, especially if you´ve captured at 10fps.

    my 2 ct (euro)

    cheers
