Hi, I have done some digging around and can’t seem to find a solid answer to this question, maybe someone has some insight…
I am in need of speeding up the transcoding of H.264 files to an editable format like ProRes, XDCAM, or DVCProHD in the field on a laptop. There are some great options for speeding up encoding TO H.264 once I’m done, but I could really use a good hardware accelerator on the front-end of the process… anyone know of something? This would have to have ability to take files from CompactFlash (Mark II files)… right now, I’m using MPEG Streamclip to transcode, but it is limited to the speed of the processor, just curious if there is faster way.
    Thanks
