Transcend 32 g class 6
Posted by Dano Motley on April 17, 2009 at 7:34 pm….TOTALLY WORKS…. just received two of them from transcendusa.com. they were $108.00 each. the sony ex3 formatted them perfectly. i have shot for about a half hour on both cards and both playback correctly.
each card registered 117 minutes on 1080 HQ 60I. too bad for sandisk. i am sure they will loose a boat load of cash from governing down the sandisk 32 g class 4 cards not to work with the sony ex3 or sony ex 1…oh well that’s technology!
finally,
Dano

Actually it’s a bad business decision on Sandisk’s part IMHO. They don’t gain SxS sales. They simply lose SDHC sales in an area where they might have had volume sales as people consider handing to clients or archiving like tape. It may not be that inexpensive yet but it’ll surely happen and Transcend will have the loyal customer base because their media never fails and Sandisk has.

April 18, 2009 at 1:38 pmAs soon as I can I will get me some Transced.
I won’t risk again with the SanDisk Class 4.
I’ve been able to recover the files of from the two cards with the help of a PC and them the Clip Browser.
I don’t want to repeat the experience.
BTW, had any of you tried to record over-cranked in the Class 6?
The new JVC cameras say they can do it.

April 18, 2009 at 1:48 pmHoodman’s RAW 16GB SDHC promotional material claims 720p24/48 but the one person who tested, reported something like 42 and apparently even that produced errors after some time.
Not only does JVC claim overcrank, they also have about 3 second cache record buffer.
I do hope Sony comes out with another firmware update.

Any info about overcranking limits with the Transcend 32GB?… Does everything seem reliable so far?

April 20, 2009 at 7:50 pmThis is a liitle off topic. I just had a demo from Panasonic. The guy actually had a P2 card broken open. Guess what……..? It had 2 SD cards inside of it. What an amazing rip off. I wish someone would crack open the SxS card to see what’s inside.

April 21, 2009 at 1:46 amthe transcend 32 g class 6 do not overcrank 720p/24 or 720p/30. they go for about 5 seconds then stop.
other than that, they work perfect for regular recording. i have been in touch with MxM …they are still playting with the sandisk 32 g class 4 and feel that there might be a work around on that card but, nothing is final as of yet.
stay tuned,
Dano
