If you could have sold it to the client! This one would be tough to get thru corporate without a really convincing presentation!

The key to this one breezing thru the process was that it had Dave in it, and in corporate, you learn fast that you like whatever the boss likes, or is in, even when he’s wrong, or bad. Wendy’s was a much smaller company then, too.

It’s easy to critique the bad lighting, bad transitions for Dave, and the slow pace of getting to the real point, with decades of hindsight. The extended fantasy sequence was too long and over0indulgent on the F/X, which were cutting-edge in video at that time.

But they faced then, the same issues we face today, in that a video aimed at very young, under-educated part-time workers needs to keep a simple message and make it memorable and fun to watch.

? Does that mean that that training video was on that web site…or that I used the word that to many times in one sentence?

Actually, this floated towards the front page of Reddit last week. That’s where I saw it.

This is precisely what makes the “consensus aggregators” worth keeping an eye on. A lot of the stuff is cat videos and dreck, but on the same sea, often float lightweight gems of rare value.

Mmmm, nothing says tasty like “gray and moist”

It is videos like this that made the Ampex ADO the most valuable piece of gear in 1985!

I think that rap sequence was an outtake from Breakin’ 2.
