Training for DVD Authoring
Posted by Tim Bowen on November 10, 2006 at 6:46 pmHey folks,
Is there anywhere to get training for Sonic Scenarist? I see many jobs asking for experience with this program, but have not found any institution teaching it.
THanks,

I learn Scenarist by myself. 5 years….
IMHO, if you buy Scenarist you can get teaching in Sonic
I can get you book “Quick and easy: Scenarist pro”, but it in russian language 🙂
You can read: https://www.spline.ru/DigitalVideo/ScenaristPart1.htmAnd say me please, where i can read “many jobs asking for experience with this program” ?
Now i looking for a job – dvd authoring/encoding/preparing etc. and can’t find any vacancy in Israel 🙂 -

November 10, 2006 at 7:14 pmsorry Frippy, I should rephrase… I’m in Los Angeles, CA and most of the DVD jobs I do see require Sonic Scenarist experience. Not that I’m seeing a vast amount of DVD authoring jobs. The irony, it seems, is that few places are training people for it…. at least I have not found a place that is training with Sonic. Lots of DVD studio pro.

November 10, 2006 at 8:08 pmYou used to be able to go to Video Symphony in Burbank but I believe Sonic pulled all thier training contracts.
To be honest you’d be wasting your money with training. Unless you on the application on a regular basis it’s hard to keep up and someone’s not going to hire you with just training anyway.
The best thing to do is contact one of the authoring houses to see if they have any QC gigs available then work from there sitting with an author. Not sure how much you know about the DVD spec but authoring on DVDSP & Scenarist are two different worlds.
