  • Tracking motion and applying the path to a mask

I have the tedious task of changing the color of an object that is in the background of pretty much every shot in a movie.

Unfortunately for me, most of the footage is hand held and therefore shakes alot.

The object is yellow and what I’m basically doing is duplicating the layer, changing the transfer mode to color and taking out the yellow channel with the Hue and Saturation effect.

I have to manually rotoscope most of the object because alot of time the actors are moving in front of it or the camera is moving.

What I wanna know, to simply my task is : Is it possible to create a track that object in a shot and have my mask follow the same path?

    Hi there,

I’ve not tried this, and have no idea if it’s possible, but can you not use a null for this, since that’s got an anchor point?
