April 2, 2005 at 5:32 pmI have a halo created in one layer with a mask and want it to follow smothly over the head of another person in a diffrent layer, is this possible. If so how do I do it?
Working with AE 6.5 professional.

April 2, 2005 at 11:16 pmThis shouldn’t be too hard to do. You’ll probably get close to perfect quite quickly.
Create a Null Object.
Select your video layer.
Go to Animation>Track Motion
Get it tracking!
Then, before you click apply, click ‘Edit Target’ and choose your Null to be it.
Then apply your tracking.
Then all you have to do is parent your halo to the null. You could cut out the null and just apply the tracking to your halo layer, but I prefer to do it with the null in case I want to do some other transformations. Read your manual or the help files for more assistance with layer tracking.

(The ‘Great’ stands for ‘Not So Great)No trees were harmed in the creation of this message, but several thousand electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
