  Tracking along a path…

  VERY New to Motion and piling thru the manual looking for this but the manual is huge –

  What I’d like to do is have a Flare effect track along a path. (Actually – the outline of the company name) I’ve been able to do a rough job drawing it on the fly in the record mode – but I’m wondering if there is a way I can draw the path as I would draw a clipping path in Photoshop or a path in Illustrator – then have the Flare effect follow that path, allowing me to shorten or length the duration of the effect by shortening or lengthening the effect in the timeline ?

  I’d be happy for someone to just point me to the page # in the manual.
