Tracking a TV screen
Hi everyone,
I’ve been given some footage from a student short film and my job would be to put a screen on the TV to make it look like it was on a news channel.
During the shoot they taped four small white squares on the screen to help with the tracking, but it’s not really working out. I’ve tried to use “Track Camera” from the Tracker but it doesn’t pick them up. There are track points everywhere on the scene, but nothing on the TV.
I’ve tried to track the motion of the single white squares and added a clearer mark to make it easier to track, but with no success.In this video you can see the original version first and then the one with the additional marks that I added.

You could try using Mocha.
You could try using AE’s built in motion tracker (NOT the camera tracker) set to corner pin mode. Instead of the corner pin effect to place your footage in the right place, I’d recommend using the Power Pin effect.– The Great Szalam
