Okay. I Have a project where the client wants a porn page composited onto the moniter of a computer, I got it looking reallysweet even through a light on it to give it a sort of flickiering glow that old school computer moniters had.. Problem is the camera(Physical camera not camera layer) does a slight dolly and then a tilt, so I though a for point track at the corners of the computer moniter intersecting lines with as much contrast as is possable, sinc The Client didn’t think ahead and lite the shot very dark as if the only light is that comming from the moniter, nor did they place tracking points in the footage, Iwould kill for a green feaking dot right about now…. Any way problem is the tracker I don’t think iis recognizing the points I selected or I am doing something very wrong , because the layer (porn page) is not moving along witht he moniter in the camera move at all … its not like its slipping off like the skates that Xeeb, was having problems with on the 17th…. its justnever moving at all … any help here would indeed be hot?

You might want to use the corner pin effect and move the corner pin points manually if you can’t track them.

After you tracked the monitor did you apply the tracking data to a null layer then parent the layer you want on the monitor to the null? Once you have done that you can adjust the layer so it lines up on the first frame and then it should track a long. Make sure with a four corner track that your null is the same size as the layer you want to paste in.

Haven’t done a four corner track in a long time so I might be wrong here.

Oh a null layer, thanks that might work, uhm, could you explain that a little further though I always have trouble when dealing with Null layers. Thanks, in advance…

sorry about the tarty reply, Ihave been frame by frame painting a computer moniter, people need to learn how to light and shoot for compositing.

Oh I had another follow up question as well, when I try to do the four point Pin thing the porn page seems to jump out infront of the moniter, which would be totally titht for a three dee futeroristic hollowgraphic type thing but doesn’t quite work here.. is this something to do with the layer being 3d so that the light layer can affect it or am I just doing somnething drastically wrong?
