  • Tracking a liquify effect in AE CS6

Hello and thank you in advance for looking at my question.

I am trying to track the following scenario and am unsure if I should be using mocha in this instance.

One actress opens her mouth incredibly large and eats another actress.

I am having issue with the liquify effect accurately tracking when the actress moves. I have tried the following:

    • Using a Null layer- that did not work
    • Doing a reverse stabilization, tracking the eyes for movement and rotation, making key frames to increase the amount of distortion.

What always seems to happen is that as the big mouthed actress moves, the liquify effect does not stick to her mouth exactly. I think this is because I am using the eyes as the tracking points, but her mouth is not 100% still.

How do I make it look like her mouth is really huge without the distortion effecting her chin, neck, etc? I really need it to track her mouth only.

Thank you soooo much! I am a newbie so I greatly appreciate your help!

    ~Heather

P.S. let me know if it would be helpful to see a snippet of the footage to help you visualize what I am trying to explain. 🙂
