Tracking a gaussian blur – workflow
I’m masking out a blurring some background on a short video. However, the tracking is really inconsistent, and having to set the tracking over and over is really time consuming… Would it be better to take care of editing my clips, and exporting to After Effects to mask out the sections of background? I’m creating an animated intro, lower third, and transitions in AE anyway, so I’m tempted to use this workflow…

I would use AE for pretty much all of it. IMO if you can do it in AE, you’ll have better results.

Thanks! I should take a poll of everyone’s preferred workflow between the two apps.
The section I’m trying to blur is a constantly changing shape… (my hands are moving in front of my computer screen that I don’t want anyone to see) but most of the tutorials show blur-worthy sections that are more easily tracked by a simple rectangle or ellipse… The only thing that seems to work is frame-by-frame, and I thought tracking was supposed to avoid all that…
