I’m attempting to track a scar onto a face. The person it talking so I performed a four point track of the cheek. That way the scar will stretch over the cheek while he is talking.

The scar is a 500×500 image. The tracked footage is 1920×1080. I’m unclear on how to offset the the corner pin data to compensate for the difference in size. In fusion all trackers have an offset. The corner pin node can also offset the (scar) side corners.

How do I do this in After Effects.

    Thanks,

I dont know if I am understanding this right, but you can use the “Corner Pin” effect and then make an expression for each corner so you can pick-wip them to the track points on your source footage.

Applying the corner pin data is not the problem. From the tracker I’ve selected corner pin, tracked the footage and selected the layer to apply the corner pin to (the scar). When I hit apply the affect is added just fine. The problem is that it seem to assume that the scar in the same size as the comp (1920×1080). The scar is then shrunk down as if it filled the entire frame.

As I mentioned in fusion I would then offset the scar corners to fix this.

I’m unsure how to do this AE.

keep in mind that my expression skills are basic.

Okey, hm. I am not good at this myself, but I would have pre-comp the scar. And then apply the corner pin to that pre-comp. And if you are not satisfied with the scale, you can go back to the scar pre-comp and scale it there. I suppose it’s not ideal, but thats the only way I can think of…

Apply an instance of the cornerpin effect directly above the cornerpin effect that has the tracker info. Also match the anchor and position properties of the scar layer to those of the background plate to offset it back onto the face.

but then I’ve scaled up and down without contcantination. Any way around this?
