Track Matte – Premiere Pro
I’ve found the Track Matte effect in Premiere Pro to be unreliable (sometimes it mattes, sometimes it doesn’t, even in the same sequence with the same matte). Is anyone using a matte plugin that they like? I’ve been drawing mattes — which is fine since the matte sticks with the clip, but the pen tool also has its own drawbacks — 90% of the time I want to add or select a keyframe — I only want to rotate or adjust bezier about 10% of the time but Premiere thinks it’s the other way around.

I usually set PM to full screen and when keyframes are very thight together I also use the zoom level.

I’ve used BCC before – very rarely – but as I recall it worked very nicely.

track matte and set matte do similar things but in different orders. if you don’t like one, try the other. there’s a super detailed adobe article about it but its so big I just recommended trying them both, lol.
