    Hi there!

I’m using Premiere Pro’s Track Matte Key effect on a nested sequence using a video layer above it as a Luma matte. I wanted to avoid using because mine always turn out imperfect. After much trial and error, I made a black 1280×720 (same as sequence) background with a rounded white box on the left side of the screen. I saved it as a ‘.png’. I thought it wouldn’t need any adjustments, because it’s in the perfect spot. However, it doesn’t even show until I scale it down.

So I go to an older version I made that’s not that resolution, but just the box; and instead conformed with Premiere’s position properties. Looks great! Then I went to work on it at another work station and, it’s super tiny or halfway off the program monitor. What’s going on? Is Track Matte Key obsolete?

(ss attached, red is video in program monitor, b&w is luma matte file)

Could it be a scale to frame settings on the other workstation?

Thanks, but that setting didn’t seem to be checked. I did find the fix to my problem, however limited. The source of my problem may have been the multiple layers using Track Matte Key. I opted for one matte of both boxes and one nested sequence with the Track Matte Key FX applied. This seemed to preserve the aspect ratio of the matte on both work stations.
