    hi,
I am trying to fill some text with a texture. I know it’s one of the most basic things but I am kind of lost.
I place the text on top on the texture layer, I activate the track matte to alpha matte but I get a lot of transparency….and it fills the shadow as well. I know it’s a simple matter but I am lost trying different ways.
    thanks
    Paolom

Don’t put the text on the texture layer. Put it on a layer above the texture later. Then for the texture layer activate the Alpha Track Matte in the timeline.

    Joey Thanks,
when I said on top I meant above. Now if I have 2 text layers I am trying to fill. shall I bring in another texture and place it below the text? I have tried it different ways way but I can’t seem to retain the color nor the shadow of the text.
    I am probably confusing you-sorry.

Do as above, then precompose the text layer and the texture layer. Now you can apply shadows and any color adjustments.
Do the same for another text layer and texture layer.
