Hi Ross,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I’ve uploaded a sample clip for you to look at. It has “goodwill” written across the box which may give you a little more to work with as the clip you saw already had the replacement graphic on it.

They never had plans to track and remove the writing while shooting, just a request that was made after the fact…I guess that’s often the case though.

I was able to get a very good solve in mocha after some experimentation.

First, I believe your clip has pulldown? Make sure to remove the pulldown so you are tracking in frame based material. mocha can do this on import, but I prefer to send mocha clean frames and personally would remove in AE.

Next I created a tight track shape around the text in center.

Then using the Add X-spline to layer button I added another shape to the track layer focusing on the upper left corner. This detail helps the track be more solid.

Last, I turned min % of pixels to use to 100 and tracked with shear on, perspective off.

I know this seems like a lot of tweaks, but in a few minutes I was able to greatly reduce the drifts that I saw in your preview.
