  • Tracing used generators in FCP X project

I handed a project over to someone so they could do some updates etc, but as this wasn’t originally in the plan I made extensive use of FCP X generators and created my own motion templates.

Of course when the other person opens up the Event and Project in FCPX it has lots of missing elements as they are all on my system.

We’ve found most of the holes now but for the future does anyone know of a way to collate all the information on which generators, titles, filters etc have been used in a project? Of course the awesome thing would be a programme which copies them all neatly into a folder…

    Thanks.

I’m not aware of an app that does this. However, in the future you could save all custom generators to a subfolder in ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Generators. Then just share that folder when necessary.

    Michael,
try MyFiles from Spherico Film Tools: https://www.spherico.com/filmtools/myFiles/myFiles.dmg

It will give you the effects used in an FCPX project.
