    Hi,
Does anyone know of a good tutorial to make tracer bullets in After Effects?
I’m assuming the best way is to use one of the particle emitters. I have the standard AE one and the Trapcode one.
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Ro

Which direction we suggest you take will depend a bit more on your visual context. Do your tracers need to be real or cartoony? do they have real ballistics or do you ignore physics? What is the ratio of tracer to normal rounds and are normal rounds visible? Is the source/muzzle part of the scene?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Check out BMW’s The Hire. The short movie Ambush has the most realistic traces Ive seen.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
I would prefer they look a little more real, but they don’t need to be perfect. It’s kind of for a little bit of an animatic. So it’s more just for a little atmosphere.
So I guess I’m looking for a quick and easy way that will help show a little bit of what’s going on.
