You could put a still menu on the disc with whatever text you’d like. Since there will be no button connection, the end user will never see it. Get any number of free DVD editors to view the hidden menu.

However, theres really no need to worry about piracy. Its easily defeated and unless your printing millions of copies worldwide, its not really effecting your bottom line. If thousand of people were prirating your title, youd be rich already anyway 🙂

This is possible, although it is expensive. Philips has a Forensic Watermarking encoder and decoder. Last I heard, they may have sold it to a 3rd party. There are a handful of 3rd party apps as well, but they are all enterprise level.

Easier (and cheaper!) techniques include visible watermarks on the video, either displaying the users name OR fading in and out at random times (and sometimes on different parts of the picture!)to thwart some piracy programs. A users name burned into the image also usually has their name printed on the disc label as well.

Easiest way to counter piracy is to make purchasing your DVD easier than downloading it free. Most people are reasonably honest and will be happier to part with a few bucks if it’s a simple process than mess around with searching around for torrents. DVDs by definition are not 100% piracy proof- get your head around that and you’ll sleep better at night.
