I have 2 TP particle systems going at the same time. They are basically the same, a curved tube with an emitter at one end, and the particles flow through the tube and die off at the end of the tube. Problem is that the 2 tubes overlap, and the particles from System A are deflecting off the tube from System B. How do I get the particles from System A to ignore the deflector in System B? Is it a particle grouping option, or is there an “Exlude” option somewhere?

    Thanks!

You have your P Pass node set to ALL and connected to the Pdeflector that is currently Left Chamber.

However you already have two particle groups: Center Chamber and Left Chamber.

So create another Deflector and set it too Center Chamber.
And change your PPass to match the deflector. (drag and drop the particle group over the “ALL”)

I’ll try that out on monday. I knew it had something to do with groups, but wasn’t sure how to assign them properly and pass the proper data to each group.

Do I need to make another PStorm node as well so I have a different emitter for each system?

Thanks! I’ll post the project again when I get it reconfigured.

Yep, that worked! I was failing to understand how (and that I could) assign different groups to the Ppass node.

Working like a charm now. Time to tuck that little gem of TP info into the old brain attic for future use.

    Thanks!
