I set up an individual shape to dissolve using TP XPresso, now I want to cluster the shape and animate it using Mograph clone object and mograph deformers, how do I go about doing that?

    Thank You for your help!!!

Here is a quick set up using only Mograph tp.

Yeah, that looks great but its not exactly what I need, you see I’ve already have a shape that dissolves nicely using TP, but I need to multiply the shape with the TP settings and cluster it up and that’s where I’m stuck. I almost feel like I need to abandon all the progress I made using TP and use Mograph in turn sacrificing the great dissolve animation.

Not sure how to help you keep your dissolve with out seeing the set up. Can you post it?

Thank You! I’ve also noticed that when I open the file on a different computer its not showing me the fragments/animation, do you by any chance know why that would happen?

add a Mograph Matrix object, set it to generate Thinking Particles and set the TPGroup to Group1. Set the Matrix settings first as it’s resource intensive. If anyone knows a more efficient way I’d go with that.

I don’t know if this will help, but you can clone onto TP particles by setting your cloner to object mode, opening the TP settings, and dragging your particle group into the cloner’s object field.

If I was to do this from scratch I would use a Matrix Object to generate the Thinking Particles. The Matrix Object has sliders to control the extent to which the particles are affected by MoGraph vs. Thinking Particles.

I ended up with the same thing as Brian.

Thanks to everyone for help and suggestions!

I found using matrix with TP to be somewhat clunky, using the cubes, it does not create the clean look of a crystal. I’m thinking another super easy way to achieve dissolve is to use a shader and animate alpha and than to cluster it use mograph. Less render time too, I have to try that and see if that works out better.

    Thanks again!!!
