    Hello guys!

I have AE CS3 and I was about to purchase TT After Effects CS3 Essentials but a friend said the presenter, Ko Maruyama is too boring and that TT AE7 with Steve Holmes would be much more productive. So, what do you think, guys? If I go to TT AE7 I’ll be missing a lot or it’s worth a shot? Please, could you give me a piece of advice?

    Thanks,

    Alex

Yep, the AE 7 training is waaaay better. It has more stuff and the newer only scratch the surface.

I haven’t seen the newer updates with Ko, but Steve and Brian’s instruction in the older series really “taught” me the ins and outs of AE – and got me my first real animation job.

If you can find the older training on ebay, I’d say go for it. I’ve still hung onto mine for reference.

Save some real money and buy TT’s AE6!

The series with Ko is superbly built and the tutorial files will tax your capabilities to pay attention, retain information, and to use CS3’s new array of features.
You must have both disks, though. Apparently the OP’s friend does not have “Advanced AE CS3” or we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Ko’s stage presence is not the same as Brian’s and Steve’s and the format of the disks has been changed to refelct changes in TT’s audience profiles. Maybe you don’t fit that profile but I’d save up to buy the new CS4 version if I were you or did not have any experience with serious AE training tools.
