This is really stupid but I’m going through the total training series and I’m to the part where you make a favorite from a stack of effects. It says to choose the “Save As Favorite” from the Effects menu however, I don’t seem to have that option. The AE help site says the same thing. My version (6.5 pro) is missing the whole section of the drop down menu shown in the video. Anyone know where or how I can get that to display?

    Thanks in advance.

“Animation Preset” is the more inclusive replacement of that function.

Maybe I’m just thick but in the Animation Preset function, there is no Favorite folder. Whatever effect your trying to save seems to be thrown into a random folder. That makes it not so obvious when a few days later you want to find that effect but have to snoop through a bunch of folders to find the preset.

    Have I missed something?

Look in the “support files” folder within the AE directory. There should be a “presets” folder there. You can make your own sub-folders therein and save presets there.

A “favorites” folder is no longer used.
