No, that’s what Vegas should be expecting. AVC/H.264 video with AAC audio.

September 2, 2011 at 12:47 pmUnfortunately, I’m out of ideas too since this just works on my PC. Code-paks are usually the culprit in these cases but if you don’t have any installed then it can’t be. Still, another program could have installed a codec that interferes with Vegas. You might try re-installing Vegas as a last attempt to restore the functionality that you should have to begin with.

Don’t capture as MP4. Use the AVCHD setting which makes .TS files that edit fine in Vegas.

It sounds like you may need a more powerful computer. I have no problems playing AVCHD on my 2.66Ghz QuadCore.
[stephen lampett] ” Also I get no sound.”
That’s odd. The sound should be AVC which Vegas plays back just fine. It could be that some other software on your computer is causing a problem with Vegas. Programs like FFDShow can cause problems and code-paks are notorious for this so if you have any installed I would uninstall them and re-install Vegas. You might want to re-install Vegas anyway just to see if you get the audio back.
