Top Five Regrets of the Dying
This article really struck me. It’s the top five regrets of the dying as told by a hospice worker. In particular I was struck by the comment about dreams and not following them because of a fear of failure and not doing what was expected of you.

If you go back two years in this very forum, there was a discussion about how a large production company folded and that led to more talk about how bad the economy and the industry was in general. In that thread and a few others that followed, I mentioned our plan to build and open a new facility for which I was roundly ridiculed by some folks on here. It would fail for sure and only an idiot would open a huge new facility “in this economy.” But it’s funny that my comment on June 14, 2010 mirrors some of what is in the article about regrets.
Reality is you only have one life to live on this earth. Our venture might succeed, it might fail…..We’re going to give this our best shot and if that isn’t good enough, we go bust and I go back to freelance editing or any myriad of other skills I have. But I’ll never have to ask myself, “What if?”
You can read the rest of it here….. https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/17/870581Long story short, as the article reminds us, we all get one shot at this thing called life. We’re all in business to make money and be successful. But remember to take time to enjoy life, enjoy the people around you and follow some of your dreams. Win, lose or draw, I plan to have very few “what if” questions lingering when my time comes.
Wishing the best for you and yours in 2012 and beyond.
