Ok so no offense here, i watched the 50 min tutorial and I got to say I loved it, it made me think of the trailer of the movie a scanner darkly (www.apple.com/trailers … check it out) so i was playing around with my own settings like the well like all tutorials suggest and I realised i don’t like illustrator lol, don’t get me wrong, it’s an awsome app but let’s just say if my parents didn’t luckily spoil me so much (with the suite from adobe) maybe I wouldn’t save to purchase it. So I took the main idea from the tutorial and I applied it to photoshop, by exporting my video from AE 7 to a filmstrip format, now since my machine is being upgraded this summer, I try to use 720×480 for 5 seconds a shot in PS or else it get’s kind of hard, so I apply 1 filter which will remain secret until proven worthy :), but the whole filmstrip technique is hard on the ram and on the cpu, I was wonderring If there was a way with maybe Adobe Bridge or like tunning the startup file like in the second part of the tut in illustrator but for photoshop, it’s bassicly pretty simple, its 1 filter, anyways, all replies are more than welcome. thank you.

    sound about right?

there are alot, and i mean alot of filters you can do such things in, the least of which is postulate, and then there’s sumi-e etc there are alot of those “stylize filters that could look cool

Helpful yes but not exacly what I was looking for, I had the filter, and btw I didn’t have posterize effect in mind although I do like the results, I was wonderring if there was any other way to export from AE to PS (without using filmstriom mthod which is too heavy on my pc and whitout going frame per frame), but thank you for the reply, always appreciated.

Batch process. Render out of AE as an imaghe sequence.

In PS, record the steps you take to change 1 frame’s look as a Photoshop Action.

Then batch process all of the frames at once using the photoshop batch tools, which caqn use the PS action you created. You may be able to do this via bridge as well (with photoshop), but I’m not sure.

I don’t really work with photoshop more then for image correction or creating images for animation. Been a while since I did actions of any kind. I don’t want to misdirect you here. I’d suggest reading the help files, and going to the creative cow Phosotoshop and Illustrator forum for more hlep if you get stuck.

    This would be the original:

    And they after picture:

It’s fairly simple to do, actualy it’s just 1 or 2 effects, depending if you take account of the minor color correction. But it works good for the clip, if anyone wants more info, feel free to ask, Id be more than glad. Anyways, keep up the good work Aharon
