Hi guys, I’m working with a trial version of PPro CS4 and I noticed that when I open up the app, the only tool that shows up in the toolbox is the pen tool. If I undock the toolbox, the other tools will sometimes show up (sometimes not). Any idea what’s going on with this?

I’m making the transition from Sony Vegas to PPro and so far…although completely lost at times, I’m really enjoying the challenge of learning a new app!

I recommend you reset your workspace and hopefully it will sort itself out.

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

    Cheers

Resetting the workspace doesn’t help any…but thanks for the advice. And thanks for the link to the free tutorials….I need all the help I can get 🙂

    I’m sorry to hear that.

If you rearrange your workspace such that all the tools appear save the workspace as a custom workspace. When/if the tools disappear, select a different workspace and then select your custom workspace again. Do the tools re-appear?

All this shouldn’t be necessary, and personally I am not experiencing it under XP x86 or Vista x64, but the fact that you’re experiencing it means something on your system is coming into play.

Perhaps one or more of troubleshooting tips will help.

    Cheers

This happens to me on occasion – try undocking the tool box – left-click to the left of the Tools title bar and select “Undock Panel”. The tools should reappear.
