too white after render
Some time ago I asked about this issue but nobody answered. It’s a serious thing for me.
When I edit native footage from Canon 5D (H264 codec) everything looks alright in preview (I edit with 8bit color depth) but after render the video gets brighter and more white (like ‘Input end’ slider pushed left a bit in Sony Levels). What’s more intriguing it doesn’t happen when I edit Neoscene footage (I stopped using Neoscene since Vegas 10).
I am doing a tv cooking show that is shot on whitebox. The whitebox footage is already bright but after rendering it comes out just too bright. It’s still OK for TV channel, but I it looks wrong (some parts of white items just dissapear on white background).
Darkening the clips with Sony Levels doesn’t really help.
Does ANYBODY know what’s going on!?

Tell me something Grzegorz,
Have you ever used Vegas 9 and gotten this same brightening result
after renders? Why, i first want to know if this is possibly
a Vegas 10 issue….And what format are you rendering to when
you get this result or does it occurs no matter what format
you render?

I didn’t notice this issue in Vegas 9 but maybe because back then I was using Neoscene footage.
I render to DV AVI but it also happens when I render mpeg2. I haven’t checked other formats but I suppose it’s the same.

That seems like a Vegas 10 issue..been puzzling to see what
else could be causing you that problem.Double check that you
have the latest quicktime version installed and make sure your
graphics card, if you have one, has the latest driver installed.
For me personally, i dont use Vegas 10. Vegas 9 is my workhorse
all around, for many reasons that i cant get into right now.Steve Rhoden
