I wrote most of this code 6+ months ago. I’m just getting around to making it publicly available.

toMotion, requires OSX ver.10.7 or higher.

Use this application to move downloaded Motion 5 Templates (Effects, Generators, etc.) to the proper designated folder in ~/Movies/Motion Templates. You can also create custom “Categories” below the root Motion Templates folders for proper hierarchical storage/view in the associated FCPX Browsers.

I’ve also included a backup utility. Set the path to the backup folder and you’re all set.

Drag Template folders into the main UI or add via the File/Open action. **Please note the application *moves* Template folders from their original location.

You can inspect the contents of your Motion Templates Folders using the “Reveal Motion Templates folder” action located in the application menu.

I’ve included a link in the Help menu that explains the basic functionality of the application. Standard Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. I’ve used this tool extensively and have not encountered any issues.
