Logging in with a different user name works! What do you recommend now to have it working to the old account?
Thanks

April 30, 2007 at 10:52 amBasically it could be a whole host of settings only stored with your older user name that has been “corrupted” or changed by another program affecting PPro. This could be a registry edit or something written into the many control files inside “Local Settings”/”Application Data” directories.
It could take some time to find this as you can see, there is a whole bunch of things that could have been screwed…at least it shows it’s not an install problem on software intself, or a hardware issue.
How attached are you to your old profile? 😉 Might be quicker to migrate to the new one. Otherwise it’s lenthy trials with regedit and looking at files.

April 30, 2007 at 3:09 pmPremiere uses all of your computer hardware. Soundboard, VGA drivers, and video card drivers, all of which have to be acceptable to the application. The fact that it was running, and I am assuming flawlessly, would point to some change. Could be something changed in BIOS or some other application conflict. Like maybe the installation of some new CD/DVD burner software, or improper installation of some new codec version. Especially if a reinstall did not change the problem. (which is usually not required, and can add to the problems if not done properly.) Can you create a new program ok? Try to see if it is for sure Premiere not working, or could there be some corruption of some part of your problem project files.

I think I’m going to use the new ‘working’ account .. I am not really attached to the old profile … Wow.. you saved me from a painful hard drive formatting.
Thanks again.
