    Hi,

Converted a 4 hour VHS to MP4 using Elgato Video Capture (2.96 GB). Dropped into Toast. Gets to last 1% and comes up with “The drive reported an error: Sense Key = Medium Error. Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03” this is burning a dual layer disc (DVD-R DL) on a macbook pro.

Tried burning a disc image instead. Get error “Couldn’t complete the last command because there was an I/O error (your disc may be copy-proected)” again this happens at the last 1%. Then “Couldn’t complete the last command because a file couldn’t be found. Result Code = -43”

Toast estimates the file at 7gb (or there abouts)

So, dropped into compressor – fastest encode 90 mins (I always use this setting – although obviously it’s over the 90 mins – however, there is not a longer setting then 150 mins). Works great, converts the file, but the size is 11gb – too big for a dual layer disc.

Could really do with a bit of advice. Please put it in fairly basic terms as I am not a complete technical expert in this field.

    Thanks

    Olly Lawer
