To Up-res or not
A documentary film that I helped produce is going to be projected at a festival. The project was done in DVCPro-50. The festival will accept either Blu-Ray or a standard DVD. Do you think I will gain anything by up-resing my quicktime movie and delivering it in Blu-Ray? If so, I’ve heard the After Effects does a better job with the up-res than Final Cut.
I appreciate you thoughts.

You will gain nothing. Your footage is SD, making it HD won’t make it any better. Make an SD DVD.

Allow me to offer one slightly contrary argument:
If you send an SD DVD, you have no control over how it will look if it going to be up-converted or played back in a Blu-Ray player at the destination. If you up-res and make a Blu-Ray, while you do not gain any benefit or resolution or image quality, you at least have more control over how it will eventually look when played.
