    OK, heres the deal

ive been tasked to (after shooting on a beach) to place a japanese and british cliper ships out on the water, they are to be limited in detail and off in a distance, almost now im wondering several things,

    first to miniture or not

do i find a miniture and shoot in on a screen and than place, or take photos, and cut it and mess with in in photoshop, andd than place

second, whats a good way to replicate wave motion, like how the boat will rock back and forth, something cycle-able.

third, as far as lighting i think we may be goin magic hour shots so sun on the water, how should i replicate this with the boat, is this finaly a good excuse to buy lux, or will a.e. be able to handle this nativley

if they in are in the distance, you should be fine with using flat images composited well. with the rocking motion; simple rotate keyframing will suffice. with the water reflections; if they’re off in the distance you may not need to worry. if you do need it; just a lighter layer mapped to a moving matte will suffice.

even if you minature it or just use still photos; you’ll sell the final piture by compositing well, rather than your source.
