Quick question, I am new to shooting video and editing with Premiere. After I start a new project and I am finished with the editing peice can I delete most of the folders that the new project has created on my external drive? It is amazing how many files get created and how much disk space is used. I am shooting in HD so I realize that will use more disk space. I’m just a neat freak and can’t stand all the files that get created.

    Thanks for the Help

Most of what gets created are preview files, also called peak files for audio. I wouldn’t delete until you are done.

The best way to go about it, is to go to the project manager and to create a new trimmed copy of the project in a separate folder. Then you can delete away, as long as you have another copy of the original footage in case you need it later.
